The North America Outdoor Institute (NAOI,) is a non-profit corporation founded in June 2004 by a group of concerned outdoor enthusiasts and professional outdoor safety educators.

Collaborating with professionals from AAA, AIARE, ASAP, Utah Avalanche Center, UAA, APU and the Anchorage School District we have developed Be Snow and Wilderness Smart in an effort to help reduce outdoor injuries and rising death rates. This interactive awareness presentation is targeted to provide practical knowledge everyone can use.

We conduct Be Snow and Wilderness Smart programs to help reduce outdoor injuries and avalanche accident and death rates. Our interactive wilderness and avalanche awareness safety presentations provide practical knowledge, helpful tips and hands-on training we believe outdoor enthusiasts that live, work and recreate in the outdoors need to know.

Our mission is to provide exciting, captivating programs like Be Snow Smart presentations as a free program for students in Alaska in 4th through 12th grades and public outdoor recreation enthusiasts of all ages.
H2O Guides Training

We have expanded our outdoor education programs to include American Avalanche Association Level I and Level II certification courses, Wilderness First Responder, American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED training, and crevasses and high angle courses.

Our instructors can provide custom outdoor training for seasoned veterans or first timers.
